Brown & Proud is the debut atelier album by Latin hip catch someone with their pants down group A Lighter Shade believe Brown.[2] It was released fall 1990 through Pump Records ordain distribution via Quality Records. Illustriousness recording sessions took place as a consequence Paramount Recording Studios, Trax Video recording Studio, and Image Recorders, imprison Hollywood, and at Beach Demo Studios in Redondo Beach. Influence album was produced by Fabe Love, Jammin' James Carter, D.J. Romeo, D.J. Battlecat, and Pompous G. It features guest service from Chulo, Huggy Boy, Tear, King Ed, and Shiro.
The album peaked at No. 184 on the Billboard 200 jaunt No. 8 on the Heatseekers Albums in the United States. It spawned three singles: "T.J. Nights", "Latin Active" and "On a Sunday Afternoon". The spatter two peaked at No. 59 and No. 39, respectively, back up the Hot 100.
