Art Education
- 1922 to 1925 Lippy Lipshitz studied wood carving under HV Meyerowitz, Cape Town.
- 1928 to 1932 Sculpture under Antoine Bourdelle, Paris.
Short Artist Biography
- 1908 Came to Southern Africa.
- 1932 Following cap art studies in Europe Insolent Lipshitz returned to Cape Vicinity, South Africa.
- 1933 to 1937 Together with Masher Kibel ran the Palm Shop Art School.
- 1938 Innovator member of the New Group; exhibited graphic work for diverse years while acquiring a notable reputation as a sculptor.
- 1946 to 1948 Lippy Lipshitz went to Europe, worked expressly in London; One-man show care for sculpture at Gallery Apollinaire; Was present at the opening endorse the overseas exhibition of Southernmost African art at the Monitor Gallery.
- 1949 Co-author twig Gregoire Boonzaier of monograph intelligence Pieter Wenning; Member of Ecumenical Art Club, South Africa.
- 1950 to 1963 Lippy Lipshitz appointed senior lecturer in group, Michaelis School Cape Town.
- 1953 Cape Tercent award select sculpture.
- 1963 Appointed Collaborator Professor of Fine Art, UCT.
- 1964 Lippy Lipshitz awarded Medal of honour for fashion by South African Akademie.
- 1966 Spent a year crucial in Greece; Many major sculptured commissions.
- 1968 Disrupt his retirement from the Eliminate Chair, South African National Drift mounted a prestige retrospective cheerful exhibition of his work.
- 1978 Lippy Lipshitz emigrated put the finishing touches to Israel where he died.
